Our client is revolutionising the way in which the beauty sector manages their daily workflow (bookings, clients, point of sale, stock management) in addition to growing their business via online bookings and marketing.  Their solution was born out of extensive research that indicated that 70% of salons still use Pen & Paper to run their business.

The Role

We are looking for a great JavaScript developer who is proficient with React.js.  Your primary focus will be on developing user interface components and implementing them following well-known React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux). You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing new user-facing features using React.js
  • Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
  • Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code
  • Optimising components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers
  • Maintain and update project dependencies as well as fix any conflicts
  • Working with other JavaScript developers and software engineers to develop front-end and back-end architecture that’s well structured and flexible, along with the APIs to support it

What are we looking for?

  • Testing mindset (Jest & Cypress)
  • Experience in optimising web applications in areas such as performance, security and resilience
  • Ability and enthusiasm to push for new improvements across the codebase
  • Can help with refactoring the existing code in favour of working around shortcomings
  • Familiarity with common programming tools such as Redux, IDEs, RESTful APIs, Git repositories, TypeScript, version control software, and remote deployment tools


  • 5+ years of professional experience in React.js
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
  • Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
  • Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux)
  • Familiarity with newer specifications of Typescript
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of modern authorisation mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
